Hi Guys,
I'm here today to tell you about the beta that is currently open for sign ups for firmware 4.0. Firstly you can enter your PSN ID here to be in with a chance of selection to find any bugs that may be present in some of the features of firmware 4.0 as well as letting them know how any of the features could be tweaked to make them better! Secondly I'd like to talk about some of the features that I would like to see featured in the update, these may not be present in the beta, as some features will be held back for the full release. Firstly I would like to see the ability to put games into groups, this would be useful for games, so that you could say group all 2D games together, and maybe all FPS games together. You could then spend less time searching for a game you wanted to play, especially as the back catalogue of PS Plus games is constantly growing. Another thing that is quite small but would be still very nice to see is the ability to filter your downloads list by anything other than date. I would like to be able to bring all active downloads to the top of the list and not need to worry that there is a paused patch a few pages down that I have forgotten! You could also filter by file size, which could help people who struggle with space, rather than having to delete whole games, knowing which individual downloads take up the most size. Lastly there is the fabled feature that would doubtlessly have been mentioned at E3 if it were to happen, and that is the ability to change your PSN ID. This is a feature that I, along with many many other people, would like to see added so that you won't always be stuck with the same name you chose many years ago! Unlikely but let me dream... There you go guys, today's best news so far along with my thoughts on what could be added! Don't forget to check back soon for the announcement of Augusts PlayStation Plus Titles, I suspect they will be announced any day now; they should be released on August 2nd!
